superior performance. MCAtm is the second generation of micronized technology with a formulation that gives improved performance with less copper as compared to the MCQ formulations.
Corrosivity is much less than ACQ and somewhat less than MCQ, however we recommend the continued use of approved fasteners for outdoor applications. MCA is easier to paint or stain than ACQ.
The current retention levels for MCA are 0.07 pcf for above ground use and 0.16 pcf for ground contact. It is expected that the retention levels will be lowered somewhat after further testing.

MCA preservative-treated wood products are recognized for use in above ground, ground contact, and freshwater contact applications and to resist attack by rot, fungal decay, and subterranean termites including Formosan termites. MCA preservative-treated wood products may be used in locations where wood is permitted and/or in locations required by the code to be fungal decay or termite resistant in all building types and occupancies where permitted by the applicable code.
