About Babb Lumber

Babb Lumber Company operates manufacturing plants in Ringgold, Georgia and Vincennes, Indiana with a service area including Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Ohio. Babb Lumber products are distributed via building supply dealers and lumber wholesale facilities throughout our service area.

The Ringgold lumber mill processes rough, green lumber by stacking, kiln drying, and dressing. The mill production is graded under inspection by a recognized inspection agency and maintains a reputation for quality production. Annual production capacity is about 15 million board feet of Southern Yellow Pine. The lumber mill has been in operation since 1953 and is currently managed by Steve Babb.

The Ringgold plant includes a Wolmanized process pressure treating plant that has been in operation since 1983. The plant has an annual treating capacity of about 30 million board feet producing Wolmanized Pressure Treated Wood for outdoor applications. The Ringgold Wolmanized plant is managed by David Babb.

Also at Ringgold, a borate process pressure treating plant was brought on line in 2006. In 2008 a micronized copper treatment was added. We refer to this plant as Ringgold Plant #2. Plant #2 has an annual treating capacity of about 30 million board feet producing Sillbor borate pressure treated wood and SustainWood micronized copper pressure treated wood for outdoor applications. The Ringgold Plant #2 is managed by Roger Babb.

Babb Lumber Company purchased the Vincennes, Indiana pressure treating plant and reload yard in 1989. This plant has an annual treating capacity of about 30 million board feet producing Wolmanized Pressure Treated Wood for outdoor applications. The Vincennes plant also distributes Sillbor and SustainWood products shipped in from Ringgold.  The Vincennes plant is managed by Beverly Parish.
