Babb Lumber products are distributed via building supply dealers and lumber wholesale facilities throughout our service area. The Babb Family has been in the lumber business in Georgia since 1835. The current Ringgold operations were founded as Babb & Sons Lumber Company in 1953 by Walter W. Babb and sons Herchel & Jack. Herchel & Jack Babb expanded the business over the years adding machinery, dry kilns, treating plants, and purchasing the Vincennes operation. Both Herchel and Jack were active in the business until their passing.

The Ringgold lumber mill processes rough, green lumber by stacking, kiln drying, and dressing. The mill production is graded under inspection by a recognized inspection agency and maintains a reputation for quality production. The annual production capacity is about 15 million board feet of Southern Yellow Pine. The lumber mill has been in operation since 1953 and is managed by Steve Babb.

The Ringgold operation includes two pressure treating plants. Ringgold Plant #1 produces CA-C dissolved copper products and EcoLife Stabilized Wood for outdoor applications and has been in operation since 1983 with an annual treating capacity of about 30 million board feet.  The Ringgold Plant #1 is managed by David Babb.

The Ringgold Plant #2 produces borate pressure treated wood for indoor applications and CA-C dissolved copper products for outdoor applications with an annual treating capacity of about 30 million board feet. The Ringgold Plant #2 is managed by Roger Babb.

Babb Lumber Company purchased the Vincennes, Indiana pressure treating plant and reload yard in 1989. The Vincennes Plant produces CA-C dissolved copper products and EraWood Stabilized Wood for outdoor applications. The Vincennes plant has an annual treating capacity of about 30 million board feet and is managed by Beverly Parish.
