1. Interior sill plates shall be treated with waterborne preservatives in accordance with AWPA Standard U1 to the requirements of Use Category 2 (UC2). The preferred product is .28 pcf borate by Babb Lumber Company. Other products may be substituted provided the end tag carries both the AWPA and UC2 designations.

2. Exterior above ground products shall be treated with Ecolife or CA-C waterborne preservatives in accordance with AWPA Standard U1 to the requirements of Use Category 3B (UC3B). The preferred products are .019 pcf Ecolife or .06 pcf dissolved copper CA-C by Babb Lumber Company. Other products may be substituted provided the end tag carries both the AWPA and UC3B designations.

3. Exterior ground contact products shall be treated with CA-C waterborne preservatives in accordance with AWPA Standard U1 to the requirements of Use Category 4A (UC4A). The preferred product is .15 pcf dissolved copper CA-C by Babb Lumber Company. Other products may be substituted provided the end tag carries both the AWPA and UC4A designations.
